The Terezin Legacy

A long-term project of students from The Nature School high shool dedicated to the creative work of boys and girls in the Terezín Ghetto during World War II.

In 2009, a group of young people decided to continue the work on the creation of boys and girls from the Terezín Ghetto. They not only dedicate themselves to exploring their fates and works but also strive to spread their message among their friends and revive nearly forgotten texts and stories of the children from Terezín.

The journey continues

Since 2009, we have been continuing the work on the creation of boys and girls from the Terezín Ghetto during World War II.

Over 70 years ago, tens of thousands of people declared Jewish by the Nazis were forcibly gathered in the fortress town of Terezín. Among them were thousands of young children, boys and girls. In the advancing darkness, facing scarcity, illness, and the threat of transports to the East, these young people, together with their caretakers, managed not only to create beautiful human communities but also to fill their days with artistic creation, self-education, sports, and mutual support for the weaker and themselves. Although the lives of most of them were soon interrupted by death in gas chambers or during death marches, their fates and creations remain an incredible testament to the strength and beauty of the human spirit.
